What last made you cry?

When I made a speech at the premiere of The World’s End I felt myself go a bit because it was ten years since we’d made Shaun of the Dead. I held back the tears, though.

What’s been your biggest fashion mistake?

I once bought a pair of big boots that I thought made me look like a Manga-style robot, but when I got home I realised they made me look like a Spice Girl.

What did you buy with your first pay cheque?

A Mazda MX-5 sports car in British Racing Green.

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

‘Just keep doing what you’re doing, mate.’

What keeps you up in the middle of the night?

Nothing. At the moment I’m very content.

When have you felt at your sexiest?

I feel sexy all the time.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve read about yourself?

A poll taken at a Star Trek convention claimed that a small group of fans had voted Star Trek Into Darkness the worst of all the Star Trek films. When a journalist told me that, I said, ‘Oh, f*** you,’ and the next day I saw a headline that read: ‘Simon Pegg says “F*** you” to Star Trek fans.’ It was hilarious but untrue.

Who do you want to apologise to?

The 100 fans who voted Into The Darkness the worst film.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Eton Mess.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

John Simm or Michael Sheen.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

Packing animal feed in a factory when I was 18.

What’s your life philosophy?

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Do you have any secret tattoos?

I have seven tattoos but they’re not secret.

What could you not live without?

My iPhone.

What’s your desert island boxset?

Breaking Bad.

What’s your karaoke song?

‘The Boy in the Bubble’ by Paul Simon.

What would you eat for your last supper?

Thin-crust pizza with olives and anchovies at John’s Of Bleecker Street in New York’s West Village.
