Would you ever do a Plan B and cross over into film or directing?
Yes, but everything I’ve been offered has been quite typecast and I’m probably slightly to blame, having branded myself with all these tattoos. If I was going to do something, I’d rather do something unexpected, like a period drama.

What was the last tattoo you had done?
I’ve got a banner on the inside of my bicep that has ‘Edie’, my great-grandmother’s name, on it. I’ve always said that if I ever have a daughter, I’ll call her Edie.

According to Puma, you’re an ‘after-hours athlete’. What makes you merit that label?
Stamina.

But not on a playing field?
No, I was terrible at sport, especially running. You’d think with legs as long as mine I’d make it work, but unfortunately not.

Where do you show your stamina?
At the pub. My industry is pretty social, despite how many people you hear complaining that it becomes so lonely and being famous is awful.

Do you rarely get lonely then?
This is going to get really deep now, isn’t it. No, I’ve got loads of good friends who I keep round me and a lot of the people I employ are good friends of mine, or they become good friends, so I’m cool for all that.

Do you ever share fashion ideas with your girlfriend Millie [Mackintosh, of Made in Chelsea fame]?
We shop together a lot but we haven’t really styled each other.

Do you feel at home in Chelsea now?
I spend a lot of time there and I quite like the Chelsea eccentrics, the crazy ones who always offer me their spliffs outside the pub.

Will Lily Allen make you godfather to her next baby?
I hope not. I can barely look after myself.
