THE largest shareholder in Russian energy giant Yukos has threatened legal action against any group that buys shares in Yuganskneftegaz, the group's main production unit that is set to be sold. Group Menatep, understood to control about 40% of Yukos' shares, also threatened to move against banks that aided the sale, or companies that traded Yugansk's oil and gas. 'Full legal redress will be sought from any company which acquires the shares, facilitates the purchase or deals with Yuganskneftegaz's oil or gas,' Menatep said in full-page adverts in the British Press.
