Young and blacks are being victimised, warns model

A model whose west London neighbourhood was badly hit by the riots spoke of her anger today that young and black people were victimised for the damage caused.

Jourdan Dunn, whose family home in Greenford is not far from one of the worst-hit areas, Ealing, was shooting on location in Germany when the violence broke out.

In an interview with ES Magazine out tomorrow, the 21-year-old said she was "annoyed" by claims that all the rioters were young and black, adding: "Not all young people are criminals.

"People ask why it happened and I don't think there is one simple answer. I think it was down to a lot of frustration and boredom. It's upsetting; there are a lot of young people who are making positive steps in their lives."

Miss Dunn, who was scouted while out with a friend in the Hammersmith branch of Primark, previously hit the headlines in 2008 when she spoke out over the number of white models on international catwalks.

She has also revealed that her current focus is finding a new home for her and 20-month-old son Riley in Chiswick. She said: "I couldn't live anywhere other than west London."
