One of the country's leading sports strategists whose firm has just won the tender to be specialist adviser to the London Olympics. The spokesman for the Arsenal Supporters' Trust also works behind the scenes for the ruling bodies of football, cricket and rugby.

The second richest man in Qatar is a mighty force in the London property market, giving financial clout to Candy and Candy among many other things. His investment vehicles are the brothers' main backers and last week offered £.. million to buy Simon Halabi's stake in the ill-fated Shard of Glass project.

HEALTH: DR STEPHEN MINGER
DIRECTOR OF KING'S COLLEGE LONDON STEM CELL BIOLOGY LABORATORY
He has been granted a licence to use cloned hybrid embryos that are part animal, part human. His work is expected to lead to a breakthrough in the understanding of diseases and potentially to new cures. Dr Minger and his team have led the field in stem cell research, which holds the key to combating diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

ARTS: JOSIE ROURKE, 30
BUSH THEATRE, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Embattled and relatively new to the role, Rourke has nevertheless made a strong impact from this small but influential theatre. On hearing that her Arts Council grant is to be cut in half, she has galvanised the support of Sam West, Nicholas Hytner and Harold Pinter in fighting the move.

FILM: PAUL ANDREW WILLIAMS, 34
DIRECTOR
He won best newcomer in the Evening Standard film awards last year for his debut feature London To Brighton. His second film, The Cottage, starring Andy Serkis and Jennifer Ellison, is out in April. It is a derivative horror comedy distinguished by moments of genuine hilarity - a reminder British film is as much about Hammer and Carry On as about Atonement.

Children of hoteliers Tim and Stefa Hart of Hambleton Hall in Rutland, the Hart brothers grew up with catering. Their restaurant Fino and tapas bar Barrafina play out a passion for Spain instilled by travel and their mother's home in Majorca. Quo Vadis, their latest purchase and Soho's most beautiful premises, will be dedicated in style to the grill rooms of grand, traditional hotels.
