Nigel Scott, whose 13-year-old son James Scott-Faulkner waited for more than eight hours in casualty with the potentially fatal symptoms of meningitis, said: "If I could speak to Mr Milburn now, I would ask him if he would be satisfied with the service he received if he went to hospital with his own son with suspected meningitis and had to wait eight hours." Lesley Hockley, whose 88-year-old uncle Sidney was left unwashed in casualty for five days, said: "Mr Milburn should let one of his family go up there and then he would have a different view."
