What <i>do</i> they look like?

Trinny and Susannah made their names being brutally honest about people's dress sense. What better subjects for them to get their teeth stuck into than the stars at the National Television Awards.

TRINNY SAYS: Casualty's Comfort looks amazing, so chic. But the loose hair should have been scraped back.

SUSANNAH SAYS: An incredible figure shown off to full advantage. Looks great.

TRINNY SAYS: More an Oscar dress than a TV dress. The fur collar looks like something that Joan Collins would have worn in the Eighties.

SUSANNAH SAYS: The perfect colour for her strawberry blonde hair, but not sure about the fur.

TRINNY SAYS: The purple colour goes well with her auburn hair, but with a dress like this you have to have the right underwear - and we think Duffy forgot her bra.

SUSANNAH SAYS: I love the dress, but she is too old to wear her hair down like that.

Carol Vorderman

TRINNY SAYS: I think Carol has been too inspired by the Eighties creations at the Versace exhibition at the V&A. The combination of scraggly hair and slashed dress makes her look messy.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Carol has done designer Bruce Oldfield a disservice wearing this dress. An overdone Eighties nightmare.

Tess Daly

TRINNY SAYS: From the waist up this is wonderful - but Tess looks like she has a big bum because of the gathering at the waistband

SUSANNAH SAYS: I loved the dress, but whether she has or hasn't had a boob job, in this dress her chest doesn't look natural. The necklace clashes with the pattern of the dress.

Anne Robinson

TRINNY SAYS: I admire Anne for trying something so alternative. Like many middle-aged women, Anne has to a tummy and tried to swathe it in fabric. Bring back the suits and the figure, Anne.

SUSANNAH SAYS: I really like this. The style was a bit chaotic, but the colour took years off her.

TRINNY SAYS: Arrived in an outfit that looked too big and a VPL. Improved once we'd made her change her top around and take off her knickers.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Was trying to look virginal, but looked chewed up and haggard. Nancy wins hands down.

Cat Deeley

TRINNY SAYS: Cat could wear a sack and look good. An odly cut dress but she wears it well, with the help of £750,000 of Bulgari diamonds and a wonderful personality.

SUSANNAH SAYS: The colour is fantastic and Cat is one of the few people who doesn't make satin look cheap. But this dress gives her no waist.

Kim Metcalf

TRINNY SAYS: Kim is young and pretty and new to showbusiness and didn't want to over-dress - which is good. But the dress isn't showing off her figure enough.

SUSANNAH SAYS: The dress could have been a bit boring if it wasn't for the beading on the bust. It doesn't fit too well on the hips - maybe she bought it in a size too small.

Nikki Chapman

TRINNY SAYS: If you are going to wear a black dress, at least make it sexy. She should try running an iron over it.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Good shape and shows off her beautiful skin to maximum effect without being too vulgar.

TRINNY SAYS: Looks like a barmaid with her boobs squashed and on display. It would have been nice to see her hair blow dried.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Black lace with a coloured background looks cheap, and she shouldn't wear halternecks with breasts that big.

TRINNY SAYS: Looks chunky in a dress that is too tight. And her hair is ugh!!! It's definitely time to do something sharp with that style.

SUSANNAH SAYS: If she's wearing a bra, she should arrange a proper fitting - and if she isn't it's time she did.

TRINNY SAYS: She's been dressing in character for too long. Anyone looks tacky in black chiffon with a black bra, and the culottes make her look dumpy.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Manages to make designer clothes look cheap, and her make-up was like a melting waxwork.

TRINNY SAYS: This dress is subtle compared to the white shirt and medallion she wore at the Oscars. Quite scarey.

SUSANNAH SAYS: Barbie in Armani. (Though I don't actually know if it is Armani).
