Westwood Jnr's the new dandy in Savile Row

Fashion designer Ben Westwood, scion of the punk dynasty headed by his mother Dame Vivienne, is bringing his latest collection to Savile Row.

Ben Westwood, who made his debut as a designer at London Fashion Week last year, has launched a range of riding coats with suitmaker Cad & The Dandy.

His two coats on sale are The Eastwood and The Cavalry. Westwood said: "They are riding coats really. I think the idea of City gents wearing my designs is pretty cool. My mother has always appreciated the tailoring of Savile Row and has done tailored suits herself.

She's just supportive of me getting some money coming in." Until now his collections have been sold in a Shoreditch boutique owned by his half-brother Joe Corre.

Westwood, 47, has described "tribal culture, Red Indians and pirates" as the source of his design inspiration. Ian Meiers, co-founder of Cad & The Dandy, said that while Westwood's new collection will be more sober than previous ones "it certainly has an edge".
