Website offers fake degrees for £165

Fake degrees are being sold on a British website for £165.

The forgeries take a few days to be delivered and offer qualifications in subjects including medicine and law.

They can also be obtained for GCSEs and A-levels, while exam transcripts are available for £245. The forger, a Liverpool-based man, has been the subject of injunctions and was questioned by police but released without charge.

False school exam results are not illegal and it is hard to prosecute for forging degrees.

Labour MP Barry Sheerman, chairman of the Commons education committee, said the scam was "terrifying".
