Waiter serves up revenge

A furious waiter stalked a family who complained about his service, "vandalising" their home with eggs and lavatory paper.

Jonathan Voeltner allegedly got his girlfriend to follow Wayne Keller, his wife Darlene and their two children home from the branch of the Sizzler restaurant in Corona, California, where he worked.

After his shift finished, Voeltner is said to have driven to the house and pelted the drive and windows with eggs.

The 20-year-old is also said to have thrown lavatory paper over trees, squirted the drive with pancake syrup and stuffed eggs into the Kellers' letter box.

"I can't explain how I felt," said Mrs Keller, 40. "I just said, 'Oh, my God. It's the waiter from the restaurant'."

The dispute with Voeltner happened earlier in the evening when Mrs Keller requested vegetables with her meal.

Mr Keller, 37, said Voeltner rudely said the restaurant had only baked potatoes. "He then brought back a really small salad, practically threw it at her and told her to go get the dressing herself," he added. The Kellers returned home and went to bed but at 1am on Saturday, the doorbell rang.

"I looked through the security door and saw something black over everything," said Mr Keller. "It turned out they'd bought a gallon bottle of maple syrup and dumped it over everything." Police were called and they arrested a man dressed in black who had run out of the bushes.

The waiter told police it was "a joke" but he now faces a $10,000 fine and jail term.

Mr Keller added he was "scared to death. Scared they're still out there hiding, and that they're going to come back".
