Veterans remember Arnhem

A group of World War II veterans will today stage a march-past over a Dutch bridge where hundreds of Allied soldiers died nearly 60 years ago.

John Frost Bridge in Arnhem became known as the "bridge too far" following Field Marshal Montgomery's ill-fated Operation Market Garden in which thousands of soldiers were killed.

Hundreds of veterans and their families-will visit the site this week to mark the anniversary of the 1944 Battle of Arnhem.

A series of commemorative events, have been organised by the Dutch and start this morning with a service at Arnhem's Eusebius church. The march-past over the bridge will be held afterwards.
