Ulrika makes a fashion boob

Ulrika Jonsson made a fashion boob at the National Television Awards - by wearing her designer top the wrong way round.

The kiss-and-tell presenter had to do a quick change at the Royal Albert Hall after being given some on the spot fashion advice last night.

TV style gurus Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine noticed the Swedish star's top was on back to front, displaying her cleavage rather than covering it up.

Woodall, appearing on Channel 4's breakfast show Ri:se this morning: "Ulrika had this top on and we know the designer and we said 'it's on the wrong way round'.

"So in the green room we turned it the right way and she said 'but I've already been on the red carpet, they'll have taken the picture'.

Woodall added: "The other way round looked much better."

As she arrived at the awards, Ulrika was booed, jeered and heckled. The strain appeared to be showing for the 34-year-old - her eyes looked haunted, the smile was strained and she appeared to have lost weight.

Her reaction? "I suppose a certain amount of interest around me was expected" she said before adding: "Je ne regrette rien."

Later, as she presented Graham Norton with an award for his talk show, the gay Irish comedian turned to the audience at the Royal Albert Hall with a grin, saying: "I bet you never thought you'd see Ulrika kissing a nancy."

Yet this reference to Nancy Dell'Olio - Eriksson's long-term Italian partner - did not put Ulrika off her stride. She announced in front of millions of ITV viewers that she had found her Mr Right - the co-presenter of her new TV show called Mr Right, 35-year-old Lance Gerrard-Wright.

In a display of real affection, Gary Beadle, one of the EastEnders cast who collected the award for best serial drama, pulled back his jacket to reveal the slogan "Tanya, Will You Marry Me" to his girlfriend at home. At the after-show party he said: "She texted me when she saw the message 'Yes. XXX.'"

Biggest winner was David Jason, 62, who was most popular actor for A Touch Of Frost and most popular comedy performer for Only Fools And Horses. He was unable to pick up the awards because he was filming a new series of Frost.

Kasey Ainsworth, 33, who plays Little Mo in EastEnders, was most popular actress - her fourth best actress award this year. "You have made my night - it's fantastic," she said.

Fellow EastEnder Kim Medcalf, who is barmaid Sam Mitchell, received the award for best newcomer.

Ant and Dec were presented with awards for most popular entertainment presenters and got a special recognition award. They said: "That's possibly the biggest surprise in all our lives - we're speechless. Literally - we have no speech. We're both 27 years old and to be receiving something like this is unbelievable. It won't sink in until next week. Right then, we're off, to retire. "
