Triplets' mother is 17

A teenage student has become Britain's youngest mother of triplets.

Emma Burns, from Colchester, was forced to put her studies on hold after giving birth to two sons and a daughter by emergency Caesarean at the age of 17.

Eight weeks into her pregnancy, she and her partner Simon Bell, a 24-year-old bus driver from Derbyshire, suspected she might be carrying twins. But a hospital scan revealed a third baby. Miss Burns hopes to study nursing when her children reach nursery age.
