Toys destroyed by rioters are replaced by our kind readers
Heartbreak to happiness: Cam'ron Munro, mother Charlene and some of the Christmas toys donated by Standard readers who were touched by their plight after rioters burned them out of their home in Croydon
Ms Munro had feared the violence and arson that engulfed London Road in August would have a deep-rooted effect on her son, but he is bouncing back. His behaviour is improving, he is sleeping much better and he cannot wait for Christmas Day, she said.
And there will be double cause for celebration, because Cam'ron's fourth birthday falls on December 29.
"It has taken a while to get settled and he now feels more comfortable and relaxed," said Ms Munro. "The toys will definitely help him settle in. For a child, toys are the most precious things in the world and it was really upsetting for him when he lost them, but he's so chuffed now.
"It's so nice to think people are still thinking of us and hoping we're okay, especially four months down the line. Our family are coming over on Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas Day it will be just the two of us enjoying a nice quiet Christmas in our new home."
