'Tommy gave me hepatitis'

Pamela Anderson is engaged in a bitter war of words with her exhusband Tommy Lee over claims that she contracted hepatitis C from him.

The 35-year-old actress claims she contracted the potentially fatal liver disease from sharing a tattoo needle with him soon after their marriage.

The former Motley Crue drummer denied he had passed on the disease and accused Anderson of making false allegations to influence a custody battle over their two sons. Anderson was diagnosed with hepatitis C after a routine check-up at an American clinic where she complained of nausea, fatigue and troublesome bouts of diarrhoea.

Doctors have warned she may eventually need a liver transplant for the disease, which kills up to 10,000 people in the US every year. Lee last night claimed he had tested negative for the disease.
