Three objections to marriage

Prince Charles's wedding plans have suffered a further blow after three new objections against the marriage were lodged with his local registrar.

The legal complaints were delivered to the registrar's offices in Cirencester, the district that covers the Prince's Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire.

If they give solid grounds for lawful impediment they could yet block the civil ceremony due to take place at Windsor Guildhall on 8 April. Diane Waddington, the registrar acting for Mrs Parker Bowles, said today: "I have not had any objections myself but I understand the Cirencester office has received three."

Cirencester registrar Penny Fulford refused to discuss details of complaints.

Objectors have until Saturday to lodge objections on a formal caveat form.

A spokesman for the Registrar General said none had been received as of Friday night.
