Sun comes out for the weekend

A warm and sunny weekend is in prospect, the Met Office said today.

Forecasters said London will have above-average temperatures and long spells of sunshine for early March.

Today will have highs of 15C but will be cloudier than yesterday. Tomorrow morning's sunshine will be broken only by a brief shower and the afternoon will see fresher winds.

But the sun will be out again by the early evening, clearing the way for a dry night. The sunshine is expected to continue all a dry, breezy Sunday with temperatures of 14C.

It follows the warmest January-to-February period on record, with signs of spring appearing up to a month early.
