Stars shine on in silver

Twinkle, twinkle little dress. That was very much the flavour at the Pantene Pro-V beauty awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday night.

Ulrika Jonnson, Rachel Hunter, Anthea Turner and Kristin Scott-Thomas all opted for sequins and beading to add a starry touch to their gowns.

Ulrika looked radiant, if a little buxom, in a silver sequinned dress by Jenny Packham. A perfect colour to compliment her tan, the floor-skimming gown with chiffon train and sleeves was accessorised perfectly by new hubby Lance Gerrard-Wright in a grey suit. Friends say they are planning on having a child soon, which may explain Ulrika's fuller figure.

New Zealander Rachel Hunter took the plunge, literally, in a daring sequinned dress. Split to the thigh, the shimmery gown showed off her statuesque figure.

Hunter later presented Clare McGrath with an award for scooping the Pantene Pro-V Award Winning Hair Contest.

Host Kristin Scott-Thomas's outfit had a very Thirties feel about it. A long, black, beaded-coat covered her plain trouser suit. The actress completed the look with a long chain of beads, knotted à la flapper style.

The biggest crowd-pleaser though was Yasmin Le Bon. She stood out from the rest in purple swirls. Her halterneck dress was finished with a funky red rose.

A high split revealed fantastically toned legs that never seem to end. At 38-years-old Yasmin looks every inch as beautiful as she did in the 1980s. Damn her!
