Sobbing Posh slaps Becks

David Beckham was slapped across the face by his sobbing wife as the full extent of allegations about his cheating emerged.

Victoria's fury errupted after the England soccer captain admitted his 26-year-old personal assistant Rebecca Loos had been in his room at the height of their alleged liaison.

According to a source close to the Beckhams, the former Spice Girl is desperate to believe her husband - who insists he has never been unfaithful.

But she has accused the Real Madrid player of risking their marriage by putting himself in such a 'dangerous' situation and has demanded he return to Britain.

Although deeply contrite, 28-year- old Beckham has tearfully insisted he needs to stay in Madrid for the sake of his career and has told Victoria she should spend more time with him in Spain.

As they fight to save their marriage, the couple are now bracing themselves for further claims - including allegations that he may have been involved with a second woman.

'Victoria slapped him out of frustration and fury,' said a source who spoke to a family member yesterday. 'She can't believe he got himself into the situation where someone could allege he had an affair.

'When she heard of the possibility of a second girl, it all got too much for her and she snapped. David has been in tears and has been going on and on about how much he loves Victoria. He has promised he will not let anything like that happen again.' Less

than 24 hours before the flare-up, the couple had been photographed in a stage-managed show of togetherness on holiday in the Alpine ski resort of Courchevel.

Beckham has been accused of having a four-month affair with Miss Loos, who is said to have had a string of other lovers, male and female.

While the soccer star privately insists the claims are baseless, he has, the Mail understands, tearfully admitted to his wife that they may have been alone together in his hotel suite on one occasion.

He claims it was completely innocent. But Victoria is said to be fuming. The couple spent most of yesterday in their chalet while the rest of the family group - including Victoria's parents Tony and Jackie Adams - went skiing along with the Beckhams' fiveyearold son Brooklyn.

'Victoria's parents are giving David the cold shoulder and spending most of the time trying to keep Brooklyn and his brother Romeo away from hearing their parents row,' said the source.

Beckham has been in tears on many occasions, the Mail understands, as he fights to repair the damage of Miss Loos's allegation that they did have an affair.

Despite repeated requests that he categorically deny the claim, the footballer's aides say there are no plans for any more statements.

While he is doing all he can to placate his distraught wife, Beckham has criticised Victoria for not being in Spain with him enough. 'He feels that if she were at his side, he wouldn't be a target for these stories,' the source said. 'They've spent the whole day talking through the situation. They both look tired. But they are still close and have even cuddled up and watched a DVD together.'

Another source close to the party said: 'There have been lots of rows, but Victoria appears to have calmed down now. The consummate professional, she is mostly concerned with how to make the allegations go away as quickly as possible.

'Only once they are out of the public eye will she really start to consider whether or not she believes David.'

Victoria could even be seen smiling as she opened the door of the £22,230-a-week Chalet Atlantique to greet her mother later in the afternoon.

Another source suggested that Victoria may even find the scandal has done her a favour. Despite the perception that she wears the trousers in their four-year marriage-Beckham has grown in confidence over the past year through his success in Madrid.

Now, the source claims, the singer is hoping his guilt over all the trouble he has caused will mean that once again she has the upper hand in the relationship.

'Far from this meaning she will move to Spain to be with him, this is more likely to mean that she will force him to move to London, where she has always wanted to live,' said the source.

'She's been on at him for months to move to Chelsea and this was the ammunition she needed.'

Yesterday, aides close to the couple were revelling in the new picture of Miss Loos that is emerging.

Newspaper sources say she personally divulged details of the alleged affair to a News of the World reporter, despite insisting to her brother that she had nothing to do with it.

'She has come across as a conniving seductress who is not to be trusted,' said one source.
