Singles say it out loud

Trying to find your soulmate in a sprawling metropolis like London is a hit-and-miss affair at the best of times.

Despite fads like speeddating and supermarket singles nights, many Londoners still find their love lives are barren.

The latest solution to be offered to the capital's lonely hearts is billboard-dating.

The service, already a craze in the North, is launched by Lovers2.com today and involves plastering pictures of lonely Londoners on hoardings at all the main stations and on billboards in the West End. Under the pictures is an internet address in the hope that someone will see it, log on and arrange to meet.

The company believes that its clients will dramatically increase their chances of finding true love by offering a date to millions of people.

Managing director of Lovers2.com, Dan Monteith, a lawyer from Islington, said: "I got the idea for the company from a story in America about a woman who became so bored of being single that she put a picture of herself on a giant billboard as a joke.

"But it was incredibly successful and she was inundated by potential suitors."
