Sex trial boys 'offered £10,000'

Three teenage boys who are alleged to have had sex with a teacher said today they had been offered thousands of pounds for their stories.

The boys, two of whom are brothers, were called back to give further evidence in the second week of the trial of Canadian supply teacher Amy Gehring, 26. She is accused of five counts of indecent assault on the boys, pupils of hers aged 15, 14, and 15 at the time of the alleged assaults.

Boy A, who is alleged to have had sex with Miss Gehring in a garden at a New Year's Eve party, told Guildford Crown Court via a video link that he believed his family had no agreement with the press to sell his story. But he said he had been offered "between five and 10 grand". He had been approached after giving evidence in court.

Boy B, his younger brother who was 14 when he allegedly had sex with the teacher in an alley near his Surrey comprehensive school, said he "thought" there was an agreement between his family and a national newspaper for "10 grand minimum".

He said his family were approached after he gave evidence in the case but added: "I'm pretty sure nothing has been signed yet."

Boy C, who allegedly lost his virginity to Miss Gehring at a New Year's Eve party when he was 15, said he had agreed to sell his story for £5,000 to two national Sunday newspapers. He admitted saying to a friend: "If we sell our story I would make millions," but told the court he had been joking.

Miss Gehring, who lives in Hampton, denies the charges. The case continues.
