Saudis seize 'jet plot' missiles

Security has been dramatically stepped-up at Saudi Arabian airports after police seized missiles which may have been part of an al Qaeda plot to shoot down a British Airways jet.

Saudi authorities today confirmed they had seized a lorry carrying surface-to-air missiles, destined for an unnamed terrorist group, on a desert road near Jeddah. The discovery confirms earlier fears voiced by UK intelligence.

The seizure comes just weeks after British Airways suspended all flights there.
