Roof collapse kills Britons as they watch TV

A British couple were killed when the roof of a Spanish farmhouse collapsed on top of them.

Christopher Martin, 63, and wife Christine, 64, were on the sofa watching TV in the living room.

Their friends Stewart and Caroline Brown, who owned the house, found them under six feet
of rubble. The tragedy happened yesterday in the village of Rubite,in Granada province.

Fire officials said it may have been caused by a landslide after 60 days of rain. The Martins had lived in La Mamola on the Costa Tropical for 10 years.
