Robbers left £10m behind

Three members of an armed gang which stole £1.75 million from a Heathrow warehouse are still on the run today - as police revealed the robbers missed another £10million which was only a few feet away.

Five men have been charged in connection with the raid but police have named three others who they believe are on the run and "extremely dangerous".

The three are Glenn Cameron, 44, John Twomey, 55, and Lloyd Govus, 36. Police say the public should not approach them.

Sixteen workers were tied up at gunpoint when the robbers, armed with handguns, got into the controlled cargo area of the airport using a genuine security pass.

The gang are believed to have got away with £1.75 million in seven bags of used bank notes from Vienna. But a police source revealed: "They missed a stack of bags with another £10million in a van parked just feet away."

One member of staff was shot at while trying to get away. He escaped injury but was forced to return. Two more are said to have been pistol-whipped and another was kicked, causing a fractured rib.

The gang are alleged to have left the Menzies World Cargo warehouse with the bags of cash at 11pm on Friday before hijacking a van at gunpoint. They are also believed to have stolen a parked car.

The five men who have been charged with conspiracy to rob are due to appear at Staines magistrates' court today.
