Radio 4 spotlight shines on London

A season of programmes on Radio 4 will examine how London has changed over the last 25 years.

London: Another Country? will explore the capital's identity in modern Britain. Programmes include The Other Side Of The River, in which Madness's Suggs (north London) and comedian Arthur Smith (south) debate the merits of their side of the Thames.

In The London Story, Kwame Kwei-Armah looks at how the city's diverse population has shaped its politics and culture. The Summer That Changed London will recount the events of July 2005 — when the city won its Olympic bid but was hit by the 7/7 bombings. The season begins on 3 July.
