Homes and Property | Home PageQuentin: the model studentRebecca Smith|Evening Standard13 April 2012She is in her first year of reading philosophy at one of the best universities in the world. As a Cambridge undergraduate she spends hours poring over literature on Hume and Plato at Fitzwilliam College. But there is another side to Quentin Jones who was among the line-up of student models who appeared on the catwalk for the second Cambridge University fashion show last week.Unlike her fellow students on the runway she is already earning thousands of pounds as a semiprofessional model.Under the guidance of the agency Storm, Quentin, from Camden, has already appeared in a new Levis campaign.During her gap-year last year she earned £15,000.Her parents, Edward and Margo, both architects, do not supplement her studies so she is using the proceeds of her modelling to ensure she can leave university almost debt-free.Quentin, 20, said: "I have got it easier than some of my friends at university."We get quite long holidays at Cambridge so hopefully it will work out well and I can keep working during the summer."I never thought about modelling, it hadn't crossed my mind until there was a Storm career evening at school and someone approached me."Your modelling career usually ends by the time you are around 27 so it is not going to last forever."I think I have a quirky look rather than classically beautiful."My parents are not entirely keen on it and they push me to use my brain. But my mum trusts me, she knows I can handle it," she said."I don't know what I want to do when I finish university, something in media or broadcasting"Head of Storm, Sarah Doukas, said: "She's got a body to die for, a luminously beautiful face, a brilliant mind, and the cheekiest, flirtiest manner."MORE ABOUTArchitectsCambridgeHigher EducationUniversity Of Cambridge
