QPR man on rape charge

A professional footballer was today due to appear in court on charges of rape and indecent assault.

Queen's Park Rangers defender Terrell Forbes is accused of being among nine men who attacked a 15-year-old girl in south London three weeks ago. The girl reportedly claims she was held down as the gang took turns to rape her at one of the other men's homes in Brockley.

Forbes, of New Cross, will appear at the Old Bailey after being remanded in custody by Greenwich Magistrates. The 22- year- old was charged with rape and indecent assault on Wednesday night. Scotland Yard said three others - Philip Junior Mighotn, 23, unemployed; artist Ashley Campbell, 21; and Darren Wallace, 23, all of Brockley - had also been charged with rape. The remaining five were released on bail, but one has since died.
