Pupil tells of seduction by teacher

Biology teacher Amy Gehring is preparing to fly home to her family's farm in Canada today as her extraordinary sexual exploits were revealed by teenage pupils.

The jury which cleared her of indecent assault against three schoolboys was never told of her behaviour at a London school, Sunbury Manor, but today a former prefect at the school disclosed that she had taken him back to her flat where they twice had sex.

Jason Butler was 16 when Miss Gehring arrived at Sunbury Manor in September 2000 to take up her duties as a supply teacher. "She wasn't like a normal teacher. She joked with us and talked to the girls about buying clothes," he said.

She invited him to the science room during his lunch break and, when they were alone, gave him her mobile telephone number. He gave her his number and that night she telephoned and sent him text messages. "I thought it was strange, but assumed she was a bit bored," he said.

The following day she suggested an evening meeting and they met at a station close to her flat in Hampton. He said: "She came up to me and kissed me on the cheek. It was then that I realised there was something more to it. I realised that a teacher wouldn't kiss me like that."

Gehring, now 26, took Jason back to her flat. He said they sat on a sofa where they kissed then she took him to her bedroom, drank several glasses of wine and took off her clothes. "She said, 'Do you want to have sex?' I said I didn't know. I was really confused."

Jason, from Stanwell, told the Daily Mail that he was a virgin, but "it seemed like a good opportunity to get it out of the way".

Jason, who left school with five GCSE passes and is now at an A-level college, said he sent Miss Gehring a text message saying he did not want to see her again. "I felt I was getting in above my head," he said.

at a school in Surrey. He said: "No matter how long I live, she is the wildest woman I will ever meet. She was too much for a schoolboy to handle."

Miss Gehring whooped with joy when the jury at Guildford Crown Court acquitted her of indecent assault. Because the boys she was accused of having sex with were said to be willing participants this was the only charge open to the prosecution.

But the verdict angered one of the teenage boys who gave evidence. He said: "I can't believe it. I wish there was some way I could go back into court and fight the case again. I feel very betrayed." The boy's father said: "What frustrates me most is that we never pushed the allegations. The police came to us and asked the boys to go to court. I convinced them it was the right thing to do, for the sake of other children. Now their faith in British justice has been shattered."

Miss Gehring slipped away from the court with her 23-year-old sister Erica. Both women refused to discuss the case. A friend collected some belongings from a flat in Surbiton where she has been staying, but gave no indication of when she was likely to leave Britain. Her solicitor David Todd said: "She is looking forward to returning home, well away from the public eye."

Her name will now be added to the Department for Education and Skills List 99, a register of people considered unfit to work with children.

Miss Gehring today spent the morning locked in a meeting with Mr Todd discussing how much money she she might get in return for selling her version of events to a newspaper. They are said to be considering bids.
