£10,000 reward to find killer

Detectives are offering a £10,000 reward for information about the fatal shooting of a teenager.

Tyrone Rowe was shot in the head while he and another youth were sitting in a battered red Ford Fiesta parked in West Green Road, at the junction with Caradon Way in Tottenham.

The two teenagers, both 18, were ambushed by group of men who calmly walked up to the car before firing a number of shots. Mr Rowe died from a gunshot wound in the head in the Royal Free Hampstead a few hours after the shooting, which took place at around 4am on 7 October last year.

The second youth, who has not been named, managed to flee after being shot in the stomach. Despite losing a large amount of blood, he staggered to an address more than two miles away. He was taken to a north London hospital but discharged himself the next day.

Police are hunting up to four black men in their late teens or early twenties who were believed to be wearing hoods on the night of the murder.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Greg Purser, of Operation Trident, said: "I hope the offer of this substantial reward will persuade anyone who hasn't already come forward with information to contact us in confidence. I am particularly appealing to the criminal fraternity, who may know who committed this crime, to come forward."

The reward is offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who carried out the murder.

Police are appealing for one vital witness who was in the area at the time of the murder to come forward. He is described as black, aged about 30, and was wearing a threequarter length black leather jacket.
