Prince Harry: I didn't cheat at art exam

Prince Harry has hit back at claims that he is an exam cheat.

The allegation will be made today by sacked Eton art teacher Sarah Forsyth at an industrial tribunal, where she will claim she was improperly asked to help Harry with his AS-level two years ago.

Both Clarence House and Eton College released statements denying the allegations.

A statement issued on behalf of Harry said: "These are unfounded claims by a member of staff in the context of a dispute with the school. These allegations were fully investigated by the relevant exam board who found there was no evidence to support them."

A source added: "They are deeply hurtful to Harry and totally untrue and unfair."

A spokesman for Eton College said: "We believe these allegations to be absurd. They are not just untrue but of no relevance to the tribunal case."

Ms Forsyth, who worked at the school for three years, is claiming unfair dismissal after Eton declined to offer her a staff appointment.

The school offered her ?10,000 as a gratuity to spend on further studies but this was rejected. Her allegations surfaced in the News of the World yesterday. The claim is significant-because Harry barely scraped the two A-level passes required for officer training at Sandhurst, where he starts after a gap year next January.

Eton College said it had asked a senior examiner to reassess the prince's papers and there was no evidence of cheating.

Ms Forsyth claims a teacher asked her to help the prince by advising him on technical terms as he compiled coursework for his AS-level artwork.
