Aged 29, eldest of three children, Victoria grew up in commuter belt village of Goff's Oak, Hertfordshire. Her parents,Tony and Jackie, forged successful electrical wholesalers business, but now work for Victoria (as does her younger sister Louise). Like her mother, Rebecca attended the £1,100-a-term Runnymede College, Madrid's most exclusive English school, which stands in extensive grounds not far from the Beckhams' rented mansion. Rebecca soon moved into PR and was snapped up by the Madrid office of global management company SFX. When David Beckham moved to Spain, Rebecca was enlisted to help the family settle in. But she was made redundant when Beckham removed his business from SFX in November. Since December, she's been back in banking, as a personal assistant to a managing director. POSH POINTS: 6/10

Beckhams' main property is Beckingham Palace - £2.6 million Grade-II listed converted children's home in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, complete with £300,000 recording studio, 100ft indoor pool, three £10,000 gazebos in garden, a £70,000 barbecue and a black and gold snooker room. Rarely seen without familiar glower - long time since being snapped smiling. Adopts regal air and often appears to be turning nose up at everyone. An ex-boyfriend, Mark Wood, said she was so used to getting own way that her mother called her 'Cruella de Vil'. Far from popular at school - called Goody-Two-Shoes or Acne Face by fellow pupils. Later said: 'I was one of the most unpopular kids there. I would wake up worrying about what I'd sit next to in class. I was a complete wreck.' POSH POINTS: 3/10

A former school friend says of Rebecca: 'She was a popular girl at school, often the centre of attention or organising parties. She had a lot of attention from the boys because she is completely gorgeous and was always with the in-crowd. She is typically Dutch, very open and a "people person" which is why she went into PR. Posh first laid eyes on Manchester United's David Beckham in February 1997 and they exchanged phone numbers a few weeks later. In January 1998 they announced their engagement - he gave her a £40,000 diamond ring and she gave him a £50,000 gold band. On March 4, 1999, their son Brooklyn was born. Four months later, David and Victoria married in a lavish wedding - complete with gold and purple thrones - held at Luttrellstown Castle near Dublin. The picture rights were sold for £1 million. The affair with David, which took place between September and December last year, started after a game of truth or dare at a Thai restaurant in Madrid.
