Homes and Property | Home PagePolice seize £1.5m drug haul in flat swoopJulia Kennard12 April 2012Detectives seized drugs with an estimated street value of more than £1.5million after a raid on the flat of a suspected dealer.Police arrested a 62-year-old man on suspicion of intent to supply class A and class B drugs after the swoop on the property in Commercial Road, Whitechapel.Tower Hamlets police seized what is believed to be three to five kilograms of methamphetamine.The haul also included half a kilogram of cocaine, worth about £40,000, and cannabis with a street value of up to £14,000.Between £10,000 and £50,000 in cash was also recovered, police said.
