Playboy faces extradition

A US-BASED property developer accused of murder was today facing an extradition hearing.

British-born Thanos Papalexis, 36, was arrested in Florida after he was linked to the killing of Charalambos Christodoulides, the caretaker of a building Papalexis was trying to buy.

Christodoulides was found strangled and tied to a chair in the building eight years ago.

His refusal to move out of the building in West Kilburn allegedly held up the deal and left Papalexis paying interest of up to £60,000 a week on a bridging loan he had taken out to fund the purchase.
