The designer: Louis De Gama After relocating from Lisbon to London and working with both Boudicca and Tristan Webber, Louis de Gama launched his own label in 2000.

The look: Dishevelled but stylish St Tropez.

The show: Now known for his super-seductive womenswear, spring/summer 2004 saw de Gama's cosmopolitan ladies saunter down the catwalk as if both a poolside and a butler were lapping at their high-heeled feet. Pairing Sinbad trousers in hot pink, canary yellow or cream with red Hawaiian print halter-necks and laser cut leather panelling, he went back to black with skinny trousers and diaphanous dresses. Also launching his first beach range this season, those who dare to bare will love his itsy bitsy silk jersey bikinis. Just dive in.

The designer: Jens Laungensen Studying and working in Paris before graduating from Central St Martin's in 2002, this Danish designer showed as part of Fashion East for spring/summer 2003 and now goes on-schedule with Top Shop and 'Faith Is Chaos' - the third in his Ground Zero trilogy.

The look: End of the world.

The show: This time based on Nick Knight's images of 1980s skinheads, whirs and clicking noises welcomed greasy-haired models to the catwalk as Laungesen's apocalyptic monochrome vision took shape. Formal tailoring and casual sportswear morphed together into androgynous hybrid garments, such as besmirched skirts, slate dinner jackets and sagging leggings. It may be 28 Days Later, yet somehow these survivors still managed to look luxurious in leather, canvas and cotton. Check out his downloadable designs on showstudio.com.

The designer: An Sofie Back Swedish-born, St Martin's-shaped Ann Sofie Back sold her graduate collection to The Pineal Eye before becoming one of London's arch-customisers. This is her first show after two years in Paris.

The look: Office worker forgets how to dress.

The show: Checks and pinstripes, trench coats and trousers of your basic desk camper are twisted into something other-worldly by trademark knotting. Blouses explode from extremities; oversized jackets grow giant hoods. Models and their dresses are pushed into net body stockings. 'I think I was entranced by the sheer ugliness,' said a colleague. Resolutely uncommercial.
