Mum Kate wows film crowds

She may have to get up in the middle of the night to look after her 10-week-old baby, but Kate Winslet still manages to look radiant when she attends a premiere.

The 28-year old actress, wearing a fitted black trouser suit, wowed photographers on the red carpet at the opening of her new film, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

Yesterday was one of her first public appearances since giving birth to her second child, Joe, and Winslet has lost all her pregnancy weight gain. Her appearance clearly reflects her happiness with Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes. Speaking about her life, she said: "I think I am getting it right this time. Sam is an incredibly wonderful person and we are very, very happy. He's a wonderful husband and incredible dad and I could not wish for more."

Winslet, who also has a three-year-old daughter. Mia. with her first husband Jim Threapleton, was accompanied to the Los Angeles premiere by her 38-year-old husband. Also there, sporting a severe haircut, was co-star Jim Carrey and actors Rodney Dangerfield, Elijah Wood, Kirsten Dunst and Mark Ruffalo. As the flash bulbs popped, Carrey joked about his shaved head - for his role as Count Olaf in Lemony Snicket - asking fans: "Do you like my new hair?"

He plays the lead role in Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, about a man who has the memory of his girlfriend - played by Winslet - erased from his brain. It opens in the United States on March 19 and in the UK on April 16.
