Moss and Green are best bet yet

BIDDING for the top 10 lots in the Evening Standard Christmas auction has topped £20,000 already.

Since the start at midday on Friday, dozens of bids have been received for some of the most desirable lots in the charity appeal. Most popular so far is the chance to go shopping in New York with Sir Philip Green, the boss of Topshop, and the world's most famous model, Kate Moss.

A total of 20 people have bid already, taking the price to £9,100.

The chance to play table tennis with Michael Sherwood, co-chief executive of Goldman Sachs, and Evening Standard City Editor Chris Blackhurst, is in demand with bidding reaching £3,100.

Fashion offers are also attracting interest. The chance to see Versace's Milan show from the front row and go backstage has attracted a bid of £2,050. A trip to Roland Mouret's Paris show, meet the designer and choose one of his dresses, has attracted bids up to £1,550. Male tailoring is also sparking interest, with the chance to have a fitting by Sir Paul Smith at his Westbourne Grove headquarters for one of his tailored suits reaching £600.

Bids on eBay close at midday next Monday. The appeal will support Greenhouse, the charity which gives disadvantaged London children hope by providing sporting opportunities and performing arts programmes.
