Mop up after second flood

A major clean-up operation was under way today after torrential rain and flash floods struck for the second time in three days.

The downpour last night lasted for more than two hours, causing storm drains to overflow. The top floor of a ?1million house in Virginia Water, Surrey, was destroyed after it was struck by lightning.

Passengers at Heathrow were delayed and lanes of the M25 near Thorpe and Staines were made impassable for a while.
