Monckton murder: man, 23, remanded

The man accused of murdering city financier John Monckton made a fourminute appearance at the Old Bailey today.

Elliott White, 23, appeared via videolink from Belmarsh prison where he has been held since his arrest earlier this month.

White, of Shepherd's Bush, is also charged with the attempted murder of Mr Monckton's wife, Homeyra, and further counts of robbery and conspiracy to rob.

He is not expected to enter a plea until he appears again in March next year. There was no bail application and he was remanded in custody.

Mr Monckton, 49, a senior bonds director with Legal and General, died from stab wounds in an attack at his Chelsea home last month.
