BBC Director General Greg Dyke used to think Rupert Murdoch's media empire was 'a threat to freedom'. Murdoch, in turn, said that the BBC was 'bad for broadcasting'.

Yet this unlikely couple - who head the two cornerstones of Britain's broadcasting industry - have just climbed into bed together. Has the collapse of ITV Digital, and the subsequent joining of forces between Sky and the Beeb, created an unholy alliance ... or a change for the better?
