Maxwell son 'month from bankruptcy'

A son of dead media tycoon Robert Maxwell is understood to have only weeks to find £2.8million to stop his latest business crashing into insolvency.

Kevin Maxwell's communications group Telemonde has run up losses of £93.2 million in just over three years and owes banks and creditors £61.6 million.

Kevin Maxwell was once declared Britain's biggest bankrupt after his father's media empire - which owned the Daily Mirror - collapsed shortly after his death. Ten years ago today Robert Maxwell fell off his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, near Los Cristianos, Tenerife, and drowned.

Kevin Maxwell had laughed off suggestions earlier this year that his latest company was in trouble or that he was facing bankruptcy a second time, but now it is understood he may have just four weeks to stop the slide to disaster.
