Tulip

Tulip has had a funny start in life, she came to Battersea from Newcastle dogs home with some other dogs. Tulip is a really fun loving dog who likes spending time with people, for this reason she will need a multi-carer household so that she does not over bond with any one person. It is important that Tulip is taught to be independent, that she spends time on her own and learns to be constructive when left alone; her new owner must help her do this.

Tulip’s new home should have a medium to large garden where she can play; she is great with other dogs and would enjoy living with a companion. Tulip is also very good with cats and on a recent visit to the country she met both horses and poultry which didn’t faze her at all! This is a young active dog that will need guidance in life from her new owners, who will have had previous experience with dogs and will be able to keep Tulip well socialised both with people and dogs as this will keep her confident and friendly.

Lucy

(10 months, Jack Russell Terrier 04/02968)

Lucy is a typical Jack Russell; a small frame containing enough energy and stamina to rival medium sized power station! Lucy’s new owners should have previous experience with terrier breeds, and need to be prepared to start her training from scratch.

Lucy could possibly live with another dog, but no cats and any children should be over 10 years old. Lucy will need lots of mental and physical stimulation to channel her energy into as if she is not properly stimulated she could become destructive. Lucy will be a great addition to any household and the effort her new owners put in will be rewarded time and time again with her love and affection.

Molly

(1-2 years, Mongrel 04/3444)

What a pretty face…..and paws……and name……and a waggy tail. Who wouldn’t fall in love with this lovely lady? Molly is wary at first but once she gets to know you (a treat always helps!) she is very friendly and enjoys lots of cuddles with you.

Molly hasn’t really had much training so her new owners will need to be experienced with dogs and willing to spend time on her training. Molly could live with other dogs, if there were children then they should be older teens only. Molly will need a house with a garden and owners who are in during some of the day.

Barney

(3-5 years, Collie cross 04/00985)

Barney is a handsome man who, for reasons that no one at Battersea Dogs Home can understand has been here since the beginning of the year. Barney is on the bouncy side and this combined with his lack of training can be a bit over-powering. Barney has shown himself to be a quick learner and his love of tennis balls means that with a bit of perseverance Barney’s new owners will have an amazing companion. Barney’s new home will need a garden, he cannot go to a home with any children or cats, but he may be able to be rehomed with another dog.

Benji & Susie

(7 years, Labrador cross & Jack Russell Terrier cross 04/03141 & 04/03142)

What a sweet couple! Benji and Susie haven’t been at Battersea Dogs Home for very long but they need a special home as they have to be rehomed together; they are devoted to each other having been together since they were puppies. Their new home should have a garden and any children should be 15 years or older. Benji and Susie have not lived with a cat before so they would need to be introduced to one at Battersea before this was agreed on.
A lovely couple without a nasty bone in their bodies!

Daisy

(1 year, Rottweiler, 04/03449)

Daisy is a very playful girl, and definitely not for the faint hearted! Daisy’s new home should be with active people who will be able to take her with them on most outings. Daisy’s new owners will need to be firm but fair, give Daisy boundaries to work to and lots of obedience training. Daisy’s new owners will need to be patient during her settling-in period. Her new home should be with experienced owners, if there are children in the household they should only be older teenagers. Daisy has not met any cats yet, so it maybe possible for her to live with one if she decides she likes them!

Mable

(6-12 months, Lurcher 04/03029)

Mable is a very shy girl initially, she almost can’t believe her luck when you lavish affection on her. Mable is a cross between a greyhound and a collie, she has the timidness of a greyhound at first but then the enthusiasm of a collie for everything and everyone once she is confident. Mable’s new home will need to be a fair size and have a garden, her new owners should be ready to put in lots of effort with her training, but this will be rewarded with her love. Mable could live with another dog, any children should be 10 years or older and Mable is unable to live with cats.

Milo

18 months, Mongrel, 04/03397

Milo is most definitely a mongrel, it is difficult to tell who his parents were but an educated guess would be a Beagle and a Spaniel. Milo is a very handsome dog, with a lovely bouncy nature; which can only be expected if our guess as to his parentage is correct! Milo will need lots of training, which he enjoys, he cannot live with children or cats but maybe able to live with other dogs.

Ollie

6 months, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 04/02770

Ollie is a typical Staffie, eager to please, affectionate and a little bit over the top! Ollie will need owners with experience of Staffies, he needs a no nonsense multi-carer household who will set boundaries and be dedicated to his training. Ollie cannot live with children, he could live with a very confident cat who will tell him to back off if he gets too excited.
