Homes and Property | Home PageMan in court on terror chargePaul Cheston|Courts Correspondent|Evening Standard13 April 2012An alleged terrorist was arrested in London after the home address of a highly-decorated British soldier was found at his house, a court heard today.British-born Abu Baker Mansha, 21, was seized at his Thamesmead home and charged under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act.In a search last Thursday police found a newspaper cutting referring to "a soldier decorated".The soldier's exact home address written on a separate piece of paper was also discovered, the court was told.Officers also found letters to Mansha "which appear to suggest his involvement in missions abroad".In a 10-minute hearing at Bow Street magistrates' court today Mansha was remanded in custody until next week by district judge Daphne Wickham.The charge states that he "possessed a document, namely a piece of paper, containing the name and home address of a UK soldier - information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism".Martin McCarthy, defending, said there would be no application for bail at this stage.Mansha, heavily bearded and wearing a white shirt and jeans, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
