Love over for Lisa Presley and Nick

Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley have split up, only a few months after revealing plans to marry.

A joint statement today from their publicists read: "Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley ended their 10-month relationship two weeks ago. They hope to remain friendly."

No official reason was given, although sources close to the couple suggested her devotion to the Church of Scientology may have been a factor. Presley, 33, whose fortune from her father Elvis is now estimated at $200 million, recently gave $1 million to the cult.

Cage, who is understood to have had difficulty accepting many of the Scientology teachings, recently announced he was selling his four-bedroom Malibu house for almost $6 million. When the couple started dating last spring, friends described them as "inseparable" and in October they announced wedding plans.

However, the 38-year-old Leaving Las Vegas actor, divorced from Patricia Arquette, was seen flirting with women at a Super Bowl party in New Orleans during the weekend.

Presley had two children with her first husband, musician Danny Keough. Her second marriage, to Michael Jackson, began in 1994 and ended two years later.
