Mr Major and Dame Norma already own a £500,000 four-bedroom home in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and a £400,000 bungalow on the Norfolk coast. Last year, they sold their flat in St John's Wood, near Lord's cricket ground, for a reported £1.2 million. Mr Major has built a lucrative career since he stepped out of public life in 1997, earning an estimated £1 million a year from directorships and speeches.
