Jessica gives us speX appeal

It seems Liberty X star Jessica Taylor gives just a little bit more than other female specs wearers...

The 23-year-old pop star, better known for her tiny outfits than her glasses, has been crowned Female Spectacle Wearer of the Year.

Jessica follows in the footsteps of other winners Mel C, Melanie Sykes and last year’s winner, Fern Britton.

Comedian Harry Hill, whose black-rimmed glasses are as much his trademark as his suit and high collars, won the Male Spectacle Wearer of the Year. Past winners include Boyzone singer Ronan Keating and Tony Blair, who owns a natty pair by Calvin Klein.

Not to be left in the shade, TV presenter, comedian and film star Richard Blackwood won the Male Sunglasses Wearer of the Year award. But, despite winning the title, the 31-year-old hadn’t counted on competition from his own family. His two-year-old son, Keaun, basked in the media attention as he showed off his groovy, blue-tinted pair.

And Pop Idol reject Hayley Evetts finally won something. The warbler was named Female Sunglasses Wearer of the Year. Will Young must be so jealous.
