Is it Jacko or a wacko?

Whatever their opinion of the man, most people would agree Michael Jackson is a one-off. Until another balcony appearance fuelled rumours he was travelling with a body double.

The singer, wearing a surgical mask and a red shirt tucked into black trousers, waved and threw kisses to the crowd.

Then a second man appeared at his Berlin hotel window with a sheet over his head in identical clothes - but with the shirt untucked - to give fans a clenched-fist salute. Unperturbed, a handful of fans accepted an offer to join him on his balcony.

Later, Jackson was seen once more at the window, in purple trousers and a black jacket, carrying a child whose face was covered by a cloth.

German police are to examine whether Jackson committed a crime by dangling his baby son Prince Michael II from his 50ft-high balcony.

He was in Berlin to receive a Bambi lifetime achievement award.
