The bush fire swept through the town of Prevelly, about 175 miles south of Perth, forcing several hundred people to spend the night in an evacuation centre. The fire was lit in a national park near the Margaret River wine region in a bid to reduce fuel that could feed wildfires but it spread across 1,800 hectares of forest and farms.
