Home from home

She spent her childhood years amid the poverty and crime of a tough north London estate.

Today she is one of the brightest young stars of Britain's music scene after scooping a string of top awards with her explosive rapping.

But Ms Dynamite has proven that, despite her meteoric rise to fame, her heart remains firmly rooted in north London.

The 21-year-old singer, worth an estimated £1 million, has bought the house that adjoins her mother's home.

She reportedly paid £290,000 for the three-bedroom Thirties former council property and has already arranged for interior decorators to start renovations.

The singer, who is five months pregnant, is still living with her 40-year-old mother Heather alongside three of her siblings and her boyfriend Dwayne Seaforth.

Now the couple plan to move into their new home in time for the birth of the baby.

A source reportedly said: "When the house came on the market, her mum mentioned it and she snapped it up. It's pretty cramped where they live and she has been looking for somewhere to buy for a while. As well as her family being there, she is very close to all the neighbours so it seems perfect."

Ms Dynamite, whose real name is Niomi McLean-Daley, was born one of nine children to her Scottish mother and Jamaican father.

Her mother said recently: "When she was eight and I worked nights, she was babysitting the other children. She was my rock."
