Hear'Say in M-way 'gun' ordeal

Pop group Hear'Say fled a motorway service station in terror after a prankster brandished an imitation gun, police confirmed today.

The group were at the Leicester Forest East services on the M1 when they were recognised by a gang of youths, police said.

One of the youths then waved what appeared to be a handgun at them. Although no verbal threats were made, the fivestrong group, Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan, Danny Foster and Johnny Shentall, ran to their tour van and sped off, believing themselves to be in danger.

According to a band source they were then chased down the motorway for 30 miles. He said: "They were absolutely terrified and really thought this man was out to kill them."

The incident took place at 9.30pm on Sunday as Hear'Say were returning from a performance in Leeds.

The source added: "The man clearly knew who they were and started waving the gun at them." Northamptonshire police later arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the incident. He was quizzed by Leicestershire police and released on bail.
