Gwynnie gushes over Jude's Faustus

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow gushed with praise for her friend Jude Law's performance in Doctor Faustus as Law's wife snuggled up with another man.

While Sadie Frost was pictured with Gucci's Tom Ford - who is, of course, gay - her husband was the subject of lavish accolades from Hollywood star Miss Paltrow.

At the after-show party thrown by Vanity Fair, Miss Paltrow described Law's performance in the Christopher Marlowe tragedy as "absolutely wonderful" and effused: "It was superb. It was fabulous, totally excellent. He really did put on an excellent show. I was really very impressed."

She then told Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller: "It was out of this world. Jude was wonderful. I was so very impressed." And to Lady Helen Windsor, she said: "Jude was wonderful, wasn't he? He was so amazing."

She stayed at the Baltic bar in Blackfriars for just half an hour before an early night ready for another full day of rehearsals for her own West End debut in Proof at the Donmar in Covent Garden.
